Ash Wednesday begins next week on February 13, 2013.  So I wanted to let you know that Christine Sine at Godspace is inviting people to contribute to what has become an annual lent series on her blog.  She writes:

“Lent is a time to reflect on our faith and the practices that sustain it and I want to challenge all of us to consider the experimental practices we can incorporate during the season to increase intimacy with God and concern for god’s world.  It is gardening or painting pictures?  Is it walking the labyrinth or providing hospitality for those at the margins?  It is participating in something like the $2 challenge or using public transport rather than driving the car?  How does this connect you to God and what you are doing to nurture this practice?”

Check out this blog post to discover some Lenten resources as well as participating in writing a blog post on Christine’s blog.

Lent is a season where we travel with Christ on the way to the cross, in deep self-examination, prayer, repentance and fasting.  We consider ways we have failed to join God in his ministry to redeem the world.  And it prepares us for Easter, where we celebrate the victory that Jesus won at the cross on our behalf.

Take a moment to reflect by watching this Lenten video produced by Christine Sine.
